Bruce Springsteen has released a 37-minute live video from the final night of the Xfinity Mobile Arena‘s Land of Hope and Dreams Tour, filmed at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia in front of a 20,000-strong crowd. Springsteen has dubbed it the Philadelphia Freedom Cut, and it opens with a version of the speech he first delivered at Manchester’s Co-op Live in May 2025.
What the Philadelphia Freedom Cut contains
‘It is great to be in Philadelphia, home of our Declaration of Independence and birthplace of American democracy,’ Springsteen tells the crowd early in the set. ‘Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour. We begin the night with a prayer for our men and women in service overseas. We pray for an end to this conflict and for their safe return.’
The seven-song video pulls from across the set list, covering The Temptations’ War and The Clash’s Clampdown alongside Born In The USA, Death To My Hometown, No Surrender, Darkness On The Edge Of Town and Streets Of Minneapolis. That last track was written in honour of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two civilians shot and killed by ICE agents in the city. The rest of the Philadelphia show will follow in three further videos, due before the end of the year.
Springsteen’s own statement on the release does not hold back. ‘I’m thrilled to be releasing our final show from the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour, recorded in the birthplace of American freedom, Philadelphia, USA,’ he says. ‘On the tour, we rocked the house from one end of the country to the other and, while we were at it, we spoke up everywhere in defence of our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our sacred democracy, which are under attack by a lawless President and his regime. It’s all captured on our Philadelphia Freedom Cut. Hope you enjoy it.’
The band behind the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour
The E Street Band line-up for the tour features the familiar core of Roy Bittan on piano and synthesiser, Nils Lofgren on guitar and vocals, Garry Tallent on bass guitar, Stevie Van Zandt on guitar and vocals, and Max Weinberg on drums. Alongside them is Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who previously played with Springsteen on the Wrecking Ball Tour in 2013 and the following year’s High Hopes Tour.
The American run followed a European leg that, according to Xfinity Mobile Arena, brought the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour to more than 700,000 fans across Europe in the spring of 2025. That scale gives some context for the ambition of what followed on home soil: a coast-to-coast run that, by Springsteen’s own account, married the political with the visceral, right up to the closing night in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia show sits at the intersection of the two things the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour has consistently pushed together: the classic American rock catalogue and an openly stated political position. Clampdown and War are not incidental choices; neither is staging the finale in the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Springsteen, addressing that 20,000-strong crowd, made the geography explicit from the first minute.
The full Philadelphia Freedom Cut tracklist: War / Born In The U.S.A. / Death To My Hometown / Clampdown / No Surrender / Darkness On The Edge Of Town / Streets Of Minneapolis. Three further videos covering the remainder of the Philadelphia show are due before the end of the year.
