Olivia Rodrigo Daisy Chain Fields Raises $20m With Stevie Nicks Duet

Olivia Rodrigo Daisy Chain Fields

Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival landed in Irvine, California on 29 August 2026, and delivered one of the year’s most talked-about live moments: Rodrigo and Stevie Nicks sharing a mic for a performance of ‘Landslide,’ in a night that also raised $20 million for women’s and girls’ nonprofits.

The pairing was the emotional centrepiece of the evening. After the two stood together onstage, Nicks addressed the crowd directly about what she sees in the younger artist. ‘She reminds me of me, when I was her age a hundred years ago,’ Nicks told the audience. ‘And I’m somewhat awestruck that she could do all this. Because it’s so hard, you have no idea, putting this together with all of these people. And she’s done it, with this grace.’

Nicks also performed her own solo set during the day, making her one of the festival’s most prominent figures beyond just the headline-grabbing cameo. Her presence, and that quote, will be doing the rounds for a while.

The surprise guests kept coming after that. Alanis Morissette appeared in place of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O for a duet of ‘Ironic’ with Rodrigo. Sarah McLachlan then joined Rodrigo to perform ‘Building a Mystery’ and ‘Angel,’ with the pair dedicating the latter to the late Dolly Parton.

The Lineup and the Money Behind the Mission

The wider Olivia Rodrigo Daisy Chain Fields lineup was stacked across every register of contemporary and classic alternative: Chappell Roan, Bikini Kill, Doechii, Mitski, the Breeders, Santigold, Quiet Light, and Eli all featured, among others. It was a billing that made the event’s Lilith Fair-inspired concept feel genuinely earned rather than just a press release angle.

Net proceeds from ticket sales were directed to nonprofits focused on advancing and advocating for women and girls. That alone brought in $10 million. Philanthropist Melinda Gates then matched that figure with a further $10 million donation, bringing the total raised to $20 million.

According to Good Morning America, that $20 million will be split equally across 10 organisations: Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center, and Planned Parenthood. Each of the ten will receive an equal share of the total pot.

The breadth of that beneficiary list is worth sitting with for a moment. It spans reproductive rights, domestic worker protections, maternal health, Indigenous health provision, and direct aid to families. It is not a token gesture attached to a festival brand.

Daisy Chain Fields was billed as the inaugural edition, meaning Rodrigo has set the template for something that could grow significantly. A first-year festival pulling a lineup of this calibre, generating this level of philanthropic impact, and landing moments like the Nicks duet is not a small thing to have pulled off. Nicks said as much herself.

Whether the festival returns next year and in what form remains to be stated by Rodrigo’s camp, but the Daisy Chain Fields debut has already drawn a clear line from the Lilith Fair lineage into the present. Saturday in Irvine was its own argument for why that lineage still matters.
