Yeat Travis Scott Diss Track ‘On Nothing’ Drops After Slime Language 3 Row

Yeat Travis Scott diss

The Yeat Travis Scott diss appears to be official: Yeat dropped surprise track ‘On Nothing’ on Friday, 4 September, days after his verse was quietly scrubbed from Complex reports confirmed he had been removed from Slime Language 3, the third instalment of Young Thug’s YSL label compilation series.

How the Slime Language 3 fallout started

‘Eaters’ was released on Friday, 28 August, originally featuring Travis Scott, Future, Yeat, and Tezzus. Then, on Monday, 31 August, fans noticed Yeat’s verse had been pulled from the track entirely. Rumours moved fast: another artist on the song had apparently given Young Thug an ultimatum, demanding that Yeat’s part be cut or they would pull their own verse. No one named names publicly at the time.

That silence didn’t last long. The Yeat Travis Scott diss track arrived less than a week later, with Yeat pointing the finger pretty clearly through the music itself, even if no one is named outright.

What ‘On Nothing’ actually says

Across a series of barbed verses, Yeat repeatedly targets someone he calls ‘Flame,’ a reference widely read as pointing to Scott’s nickname La Flame. The track’s chorus lands the line: ‘I’ma put out that flame, it’s fuckin’ lame.’ A later verse doubles down: ‘I don’t fuck with Flame, not a lot to say, if I saw a candle, I’d shush it / What more could I say?’

It’s a fairly pointed bit of wordplay. Yeat isn’t spelling out a name, but the repeated ‘flame’ motif, arriving days after the ‘Eaters’ controversy, does most of the work for him.

The Yeat Travis Scott diss framing has taken hold across social media and music press alike, though Scott himself has not publicly responded. Whether the ultimatum over ‘Eaters’ originated with Scott remains unconfirmed by either party. Yeat has not directly stated Scott’s name in the track or in any public statement.

The wider context: YSL, collaboration, and beef in 2025

The whole episode puts Pitchfork contributor Kiana Mickles’s recent Yeat feature in an interesting light. That piece, headlined ‘Chief Keef’s Influence Is as Strong as Ever,’ traced the lineage of a generation of rappers for whom the old rules of collaboration and crew loyalty are constantly being renegotiated. Slime Language compilations are, by design, ensemble efforts built on relationships between labelmates and affiliated artists. When one of those relationships fractures publicly, the fallout tends to be loud.

Yeat’s removal from ‘Eaters’ is a case in point. The track was supposed to be a straightforward assembly of big names. Instead it became the flashpoint for what looks like a genuine falling-out, playing out through a verse deletion and now a diss track.

‘On Nothing’ is out now. Scott has yet to respond publicly. Yeat, for his part, has made his position reasonably clear in the music: the flame, he says, is getting put out.
