North Westbased punks Queen Zee are pleased to reveal the first signing to their new record label, Sasstone Records, in the form of selfcoined ‘uglypop’ newcomer ZAND.

New single ‘Luci’ will be released on 5th October 2018 via all good digital retailers, and is the follow up to ‘Boys Like U’, which was released earlier in the year and was played across BBC Introducing, as well as being featured online at The Line of the Best Fit, DORK Magazine and more.

Hailing from Cardiff, Wales, ZAND (aka Zander Sweeny) continues the transition from former moniker Seafoal in the guise of their genderblurring new uglypop project, ZAND. Pushing the boundaries of good taste and intent on subverting pop stereotypes with everything they create, the new single is a huge step up in terms of both production and songwriting.

“I've found the kind of sound I'm comfortable in,” says ZAND of the new material. “I've realised that putting out music with meaning is more important than anything, even if it is genuinely raw. I've stopped giving a fuck about whether or not it's going to be played on the radio or if I’m going to ‘make it’ or any of that shit.

“I'm an ugly popstar making ugly pop music. I don't call myself that because I think I'm gross to look at or that my music is shit, I'm just down for redefining negative words that have been used to insult me in the past because I don't look how the majority of society want me to look.
