Vick Bain is the CEO of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (BASCA), the professional association for the UK's music creators and the home of the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards.
Having worked in music and the creative industries for over 20 years, Vick graduated from Henley Business School with her MBA (dissertation focus Employers Attitudes Towards Equality & Diversity in the UK Music Industry). She sits on the UK Music board, the UK Music Research Group, the UK Music Rights Committee, the UK Music Diversity Taskforce, the British Copyright Council, the PRS Creator Voice program and is a trustee of the BASCA Trust.
Vick has led BASCA as CEO for 5 years and is a passionate and vocal campaigner for the rights of songwriters and composers. Campaigns include; successfully overturning an unlawful private copying exception, protecting the BBC music services, campaigning to improve transparency for digital royalties, writer credits on digital streaming services, improving EU copyright legislation and for better diversity and inclusion across the music industry.
