    About Steve

Steve Tilley is one of the directors of Kilimanjaro Live Ltd, one of the Uk's largest independent concert promoters. He started out as a journalist, DJ and musician in Stoke-on-Trent before moving into concert promotion turning the city's Sugarmill venue into a must-play stop on the UK grassroots circuit. He is passionate about new music and about helping artists on their journey from rehearsal room to local stages and beyond. The 1975, Catfish and The Bottlemen and Ed Sheeran are the three stand-out examples of artists he has promoted from very early in their careers, becoming part of their teams well ahead of mainstream success. He promoted The 1975 from the Barfly to the 02, first spotted Catfish when an unsigned band in North Wales and first saw Ed Sheeran supporting Just Jack in 2009 at a Shepherds Bush Empire show he was promoting. Steve is a passionate believer in being loyal to his artists, helping them negotiate the inevitable bumps in the road and trying to help them achieve their goals whatever they are. His broad DJ inspired taste in music and his experience as an artist manager also contribute greatly to his ability to spot future stars.
