I've been working as a journalist for 10 years. I studied Politics at Leeds uni and then did a postgrad in Broadcast Journalism at Falmouth College of Arts. In between I spent six months in Accra in Ghana working at a radio station. My first proper job was as a local news reporter at a commercial radio station in Bristol. I then moved to London and started freelancing at R1 and various other stations in London and Essex – during that time I shifted from news to music and entertainment news at R1. That became permanent until I moved to BBC 6Music and Radio 2 for a few years. There I wrote and presented the music news, looked into various music industry stories and covered events. I also presented the music news on Radio 2 with Ken Bruce and made documentaries for two years on the Mercury Prize. I then returned to Radio 1 as their music reporter, covering various stories from the closure of small venues and music copyrigh. I now still do music journalism but I am also the entertainment presenter for Nick Grimshaw, previously breakfast show, now drivetime, thankfully!
