    About Simon

Simon Raymonde has had an interesting life to say the least. His father wrote songs for Dusty Springfield and arranged strings for Bowie, Scott Walker, Ian Dury among others. At 20 years old in 1983 Simon joined Cocteau Twins as bassist/keyboardist. Simon set up the label Bella Union in 1997 when his band broke up, and over the last 21 years has discovered/signed artists like John Grant, Fleet Foxes, Midlake, Explosions In The Sky, Ezra Furman, Father John Misty, Dirty Three, Beach House, Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, and Spiritualized. He recently signed Penelope Isles who are tipped for great things next year.  His own band launched earlier this year called Lost Horizons. Simon has also produced and mixed albums for the likes of James Yorkston, Clearlake (both for Domino), The Duke Spirit (3 x albums) and Fionn Regan (Mercury Prize nominated).
