Ryan Lofthouse began his career in A&R at Famous Music Publishing and Independiente Records before joining Paul McDonald at Connected Artists. Together they created Closer Artists, named after the Joy Division album ‘Closer’, and launched in 2012 with John Newman and James Morrison on the roster. Ryan is manager of Brit Award winning, Shotgun singing, George Ezra and Grammy nominated James Bay. Closer Artists has since opened a publishing division (Closer Publishing, administered by Kobalt) and a record label (Closer Recordings, an imprint with Virgin EMI). Ryan oversees the publishing and records side of the company, with artists including Lily Moore, Etham and Sam Johnson.
