    About Ruth

With over twenty years of experience working in music, Ruth Barlow started out as a music producer at much loved London based radio station Xfm before joining the Beggars Group of labels (4AD, Matador Records, Rough Trade Records, XL Recordings and Young Turks) in 2002. Initially working national radio for the likes of The White Stripes, Interpol, TV on the Radio etc... she then took on an r&d role in the live industry that saw her producing infamous 'pop up' shows including The White Stripes with the Chelsea Pensioners, Radiohead at Rough Trade/93 Ft East, later going on to co-promote East London's first ever multi venue festival Concrete & Glass, and numerous other activations related to the live industry. The role has now morphed into her current title of Director of Live Licensing; a role which involves managing policies and deals surrounding live recordings of the Groups artists with third parties globally, including radio, tv, festivals, DSPS etc.

Ruth regularly represents Beggars at festivals and conferences around the World and in 2014 was invited by Martin Mills to join the Beggars Group board.
