Michelle began her adventure into radio around 12 years ago by contributing to the output of new and unsigned music on a local station in Oldham. An opportunity arose to take this love of new music to the BBC through Natalie-Eve Williams (now co-host/production BBC Introducing in Manchester) who was already working at BBC Radio Manchester. Michelle worked on the Manchester Music programme alongside Natalie-Eve, Terry Christian, Conrad Murray and later Bonehead (formerly of Oasis).
When BBC Introducing was first branded Michelle would take stand-in opportunities in production if it was possible, for the team at the time which was Natalie-Eve, Chris Long and Sam Walker.
Later Michelle and Natalie-Eve would go on to co-host and co-produce both Manchester Music and BBC Introducing in Manchester.
Michelle has been a guest contributor to 5 live and BBC World Service. She has also co produced features with Natalie-Eve for BBC Introducing on BBC Radio 1, 1xtra and BBC 6 music.
To this day Michelle has loved being part of the team that has spotted the early talent in the likes of Blossoms, The 1975, PINS and Bipolar Sunshine to name just a small but significant number of the incredible artists and bands she has had the pleasure of working with and watching their careers go to the next level.
Michelle is proud to work on a programme that is honest in its output and genuine in its intentions, and is proud to come from a city that welcomes and nurtures all kinds of talents and music.
