The UK iteration of Record Store Day, the annual celebration of indie record shops, is widely regarded as the most successful new music promotion in the UK for at least two decades. It has been the catalyst for a revival of the independent retail sector and the key driver of the renewed interest in vinyl. Megan is responsible for coordinating all aspects of Record Store Day in the UK on behalf of the Entertainment Retailer’s Association (ERA). From managing all label, artist and retail relations to devising the PR, media and social strategy throughout the year. She has steered the event towards an official media partnership with BBC Music as well as looking after the day to day needs of the 230 UK independent record stores involved. Her success in the role has led to her being runner up for FSB’s Young Business Person of the Year at 2016’s London Business Awards as well as the winner of Young Achiever of the Year at the Trade Association Best Practise Awards.
Megan is now also responsible for coordinating the UK’s first National Album Day which will take place on 13th October.
