About Louise
Louise Mason is a freelance radio producer and music journalist for BBC Radio 6 Music. This year she has reported from the red carpet at the Hyundai Mercury prize where she interviewed the 2019 nominees, reported live from SXSW in Austin, Texas and the Great Escape in Brighton, and interviewed artists such as Billy Corgan, Sharon Van Etten, Beth Ditto and Mogwai from NOS Alive in Portugal.
She has previously worked in production at BBC Radio 1, 1xtra and BBC Radio 2 alongside presenters including Jo Whiley, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac. In 2018, Louise gained invaluable experience in Australia working as a producer for Triple J and Double J in Melbourne. It was here that she discovered her newfound love for radio presenting and developed a new music radio show showcasing the best in Australian and British talent for Triple R a project that she is continuing in the UK with ‘The Flip Side’ at Reform Radio in Manchester. In a past life, Louise trained at one of the world’s biggest law firms practising as an employment solicitor in London. Her passion drive and determination have since been transferred to her desire to champion new music.
