    About Kwame

    Kwame Otiende is the Co-founder and Director of The Jago; a vibrant arts, culture and live music venue in Dalston, Hackney. The landmark building (formerly Passing Clouds) features live performance, film and documentary screenings, dance workshops and community led initiatives.

    A champion of grass roots venues: community and inclusion are at the heart of Kwame’s passions. The Jago offers a dedicated platform to celebrate emerging talent, as well as hosting established artists with a global reach. His work with charities and community groups focuses on enriching the surrounding area and bringing people together.

    Over the last 10 years, Kwame has worked on various grass roots projects and pop-ups across East London, as well as managing venues such as Farr's School of Dance. Starting his career at Ronnie Scott’s, Kwame has over 15 years’ experience in the music, events and entertainment industry.

    In his spare time, Kwame is a mentor to younger people, and a contributor to community politics and current affairs. He holds degrees in Politics, Development Economics (Uni of London) Management MSc (Sussex) and currently pursuing a GDL (University of Law).
