Jeremy Loops’ career’s been characterised by breaking through glass ceilings in the name of putting South African music on the global map. An international breakout year in 2015 saw him open for Twenty One Pilots on their Blurry Face Tour, which put in motion ticking off a series of milestones in Europe and the UK culminating in a major headline show at O2 Academy Brixton in November this year.
A household name in his native South Africa, his most recent album Critical As Water, charted globally in the top 5 on iTunes in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and South Africa, with his single ‘Gold’ receiving play listing on BBC Radio 2.
A do-it-yourself but partner-with-the-right-people attitude has allowed Loops to develop his career as an independent artist, yet with the infrastructure and support of an artist on a large label. His songwriting and production partners include Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Jamie Lawson) and Jake Gosling (Shawn Mendes, The Libertines), and his partnership with Jon Ollier, his booking agent at CAA, has positioned him as one of Europe’s most exciting live prospects.
