    About Gary

    Gary Powell is best known as the drummer and founding member of The Libertines, one of the UK’s most iconic Rock Bands, as well as Dirty Pretty Things. The pinnacle for the Libertines career was when they headlined BST Hyde Park in 2014 where they played to over 65,000  fans - the band’s biggest show to date.In 2011 Gary set-up his own independent record label, ‘25 Hour Convenience Store’. Recently Gary featured in Sky Living mini series The Art of Drumming where the worlds most famous drummers talk about their craft.

    Additionally, Gary has toured with The Specials, New York Dolls and Eddy Grant. In 2005, Gary was the musical director for American singer, rapper and songwriter Lauryn Hill. Gary regularly DJ’s internationally and has commissioned music for top fashion brands including Burberry, Fred Perry and Christian Louboutin.
