HMUK is Britain’s leading independent music charity and works to create a sustainable future for all musicians, supporting those who work in the music industry through grants, health and welfare services, campaigning, creative programmes and targeted investment. The charity campaigns for the issues that are important to its music community, including mental health, hearing health and gender diversity. The Music Minds Matter mental health service and support line for the music industry has already impacted hundreds of lives since launch at the end of 2017. The charity will be addressing holistic support for its audience of musicians and music industry workers, through education, ensuring that those in music are well equipped with the knowledge around self-care, as well as knowing the signs if a friend, colleague or family member is struggling and what steps to take.
HMUK’s dedicated mental health service and support line Music Minds Matter is free and confidential and combines advice, emotional support, signposting to additional services, access to clinical pathways and professional therapeutic services such as CBT and counselling, plus links to the charity’s grant funding.
